Turn the crystal-like abdomen clockwise to switch on its soft futuristic glow, then turn it counterclockwise to switch it off. Once illuminated, the mechanical spider becomes an atmospheric display that draws the eye after dark.

I wasn't sure what to expect; I've tried metal kits before which were so fiddly I found them beyond me. This however was completely different; the instructions were clear and easy to follow, and although some of the parts were extremely tiny, I didn't have any problems assembling the model.
The pliers are definitely needed: when I first built the model, the legs were very floppy. After going back and tightening it all up though, mine looked exactly like the one on the box. All in all, I'm very impressed and I'll be buying more kits, for sure!
In the beginning instructions were okay, but after they got less detailed. one screws head was too small so I needed to add a washer that was not in the instructions.
The spider itself is a beautiful peace. However, putting it together was a nightmare. The part names were misprinted, there were screws missing (like whole packets missing), so we had to improvise with what we had. The istructions are drawn terribly, because you can't see what part goes where exactly. I'd advise the manufacturer to completelly re-imagine the instructions.
Really beautiful. The Jumping Spider is a more compact version of the Plasma Spider (and more maneuverable and versatile, due to its cordlessness). This was the 2nd Mostarle model that I built. (The Terminator M was the first). With this one, I understood the importance of tightening (and re-tightening) to avoid “loose limbs.”
This kit was a humbling and at times frustrating experience but I am still very happy with the quality of the product and my new cute spider friend. I didn't run into any missing pieces and most part numbers included extras which was nice because a lot of them are very small and easy to lose track of. I had one part not quite fit where it was supposed to sit (too wide) but after a touch of percussive maintenance and prying, the piece for the chelicerae fit just fine.
The biggest challenge was dexterity. A lot of the build requires stabilizing both ends of itty bitty screws to attach the smallest nut you've ever seen to the end to keep all of the decorative bits where they go. About 95% of the instructions were clear, there were a couple steps in the middle that were a bit hard to follow and probably could have benefitted from more space explaining the step/order of parts and show more angles of the model. I did have to take it a part and redo something that just wasn't very clear in the picture after realizing it was wrong a step or two later.
All in all it was a challenge, it took me about 5 to 6 hours, and it was apparently not meant for hands as clumsy as mine, but I'm overwhelmingly proud of finishing it and very happy with my little spider guy. His legs stick in my pegboard too which is pretty cool.
It was a gift for my girlfriend’s birthday and she absolutely LOVES IT 🤩
We had so much fun putting it together. Now she wants to make a collection from all available models 🤭
It's a lot of fun to build; honestly, it was a very enjoyable experience. Its level of complexity makes it even more entertaining and fun. The final result looks spectacular.
Unfortunately, I had the bad luck that one piece didn't fit where it should, but thanks to the team's assistance, I was able to contact them via email, and they told me how they would send me a replacement piece, and everything was perfect.
this wonderful spider-gift for a guy, from which he screamed like a girl. Everything is done very high quality, interesting and aesthetically pleasing. also as a gift they put a very cute bouquet, a very nice bonus. I recommend to everyone
Era un regalo para mí novio y le encantó la monto en una tarde, fácil, toma su tiempo me fácil de montar, muy bien empacada y la verdad que nos encantó.
Desde luego vamos a comprar más.
Didn’t realise how long delivery to the uk would take, ordered in early December didn’t arrive until mid January but luckily i could give it to my done for his birthday instead of Christmas. Kept him busy for a couple of evenings and he seemed to really enjoy making it
My first Mostarle project and it was good overall! The small pieces can be a bit challenging and the picture instructions are not always clear but got there and love it.
Got this as a gift for my 10 year old son. He loved it. He needed a little help here and there to put it together but managed most of it on his own. The packaging it came in looked great and the instructions were detailed. It looks great completed.
Bought this for my son-in-law & he now wants to collect & make more.
Good updates during delivery & well packaged. Item is great quality with clear instruction & correct useful tools. Fully recommend and sure to be buying more.
This lamp puzzle spider is such a creative and unique idea. The design is incredibly detailed, and putting it together makes it even more rewarding. My friend was genuinely amazed when he received it and couldn’t stop talking about how cool it looked on his desk. It’s the perfect gift for anyone who enjoys puzzles and has a passion for creative, eye-catching desk lamps.
It finally arrived, ordered Dec 03, arrived Jan 21, supposed to be 12-15 business days, took 30+ business days. My emails were ignored, I had extra postage to pay, had an Evri label but Royal Mail delivered. The email asking to review came before delivery confirmed. Horrible purchase/delivery experience!
I will say it did arrive well packed, bot the shipping box and the product box, the spider itself looks to be awesome, instructions are clear and the the parts are clearly labelled, if you can stomach not knowing what's happening/thinking you may have got scammed for a month then the juice may be worth the squeeze for you.
Would buy another again despite the shipping woes.
Yes. The illuminated crystal forms the visual centre of the finished model and gives it a distinctive display effect.
Can the legs be adjusted after assembly?
The articulated leg structure allows the finished spider to be positioned for display. Adjust the joints gently and avoid forcing tightened connections.
Is it suitable for beginners?
It is an approachable introduction to mechanical metal models, although the small fasteners still require patience and careful handling.
